Accessibility
NordHird Inc. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We aim to provide a website and products that are usable by everyone, in keeping with the spirit and requirements of the Accessible Canada Act (ACA) and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Conformance target
We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML and landmark regions so assistive technologies can navigate the page structure.
- Keyboard accessibility for interactive elements, with a visible “skip to main content” link.
- Text and background colour combinations chosen to meet AA contrast ratios.
- Descriptive labels on icons, controls, and form fields.
- Support for the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting, which disables non-essential animation. - Responsive layouts that adapt to zoom and small screens without loss of content.
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-time effort. We review new and updated pages for accessibility, and we welcome feedback that helps us identify and resolve barriers.
